There are seals at the area of each plug hole and the cylinder head and to fix your leak you will have to remove the cover and install new seals. A bit of a PITA and not always neccessary unless the oil shorts the plug(s) causing a miss. You could just vacuum the oil out before removing the plug to keep it out of the engine. If you keep the truck you will have to replace the seals eventually.

If the heater hose runs above cylinder 3 you'll want to check the hose connection for any signs of leaking.

Thank you guys! I thought the fluid smelled like gas. I'm hoping the previous owner spilled some while relieving the fuel pressure. I'm gonna take your advice and vac it out. then wait to see if it comes back. I'll check for that pesky leaking heater hose that always leaks in their too. Thanks again. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I wouldn't vacuum it out if you think it's gas...BOOM. You're better off shoving a rag down there to absorb the gas.

Thanks for the responses. turns out I got VERY lucky, the spark plug actually loosened up and backed out. thankfully there was no damage to the threads. I have heard so many stories of spark plugs spitting out and stripping the threads.
