If I were going to buy gears it would be 3.73 you get the best of both worlds

Any idea what goes best with a 5 speed? I don't have room for bigger tires because of my under body boxes. Maybe get 33's under it. Ow sure. Trying to get my rpms down and better fuel economy. 65 mph 2400-2500rpms. 10mpg would 3.73's help me out? I got a dually 4x4 obs.

I run right at about 2050 just singing on down the freeway with a 5spd and 3.55. I really want 3.73 or 4.10 because I plan on running 35's or at the least 33's instead of my 265/75/16's but if anything I reckon I'll just get 33's and keep it. I've been getting 15 mpg.

Those r the rpms I am looking for. Thanks for the info. With my 4.10's I can go from 1st gear through 3rd without touching the skinny pedal. Lol. I believe I have the same tire size. They might be 265/85/16. I can barely get my fingers between the duals. Super singles are getting put on when it's time for new tires. Muahahaha. Any ideas what I should pay for a good set of 3.55's. Just parts. I got a quote for parts and install of $2500 but if I can get the parts I can bribe one of the mechanics @ work to install. It's my x-mas present from my ol' lady.

Randy's ring and pinion is a favorite of just about everyone that has used them. You could always go to the junk yard and pull them though. Easy to get out. Just takes a little precision to put them back in

I'm running about 2100 rpm @ 70mph with 3.73s with 315/75R16 tires. I got my gears used from eBay and a JY I found on carpart.com.

Not very educated on this subject in need of some Edumacation. Posie/ locker?? What is the difference? I just want when I put it 4x4 that all 4( or should I say 6) tires are spinning.

That would be a locker. You can't run a locker all the time though (it'll have a switch of some kind, be it air or electric). It will be much more expensive also.

Google will explain this in more detail than you can handle.

And its a LSD (limited slip differential) not "posie"
