Unhappy no power to fuel pump

I have a 96 f-150 eddie bauer 4x4 302/ dual tanks, it was recently stolen and recovered, i replaced all of the stolen parts with the exeption of the exhaust, the truck has been running/not driven for a few hours total on different days, however, when i went to take it elsewhere to work on it, I shut it off at the autoparts, and it hasn't started back. I used to hear the fuel pumps prime, but not anymore, I have changed the relays, also replaced the steering column, when i jump the wires under the hood leading to the fuel pump, the pump works, however, I dont know what to check next, please help...

Energize the fuel pump relay coil, and see if the pump comes on then. If it does, you know that all the wiring downstream is good, and all you need to worry about is either the wiring between the relay and the ECM, or the ECM's proper operation.

Also check the fuel pump shutoff. Its a little red button under the dash on the kick panel. Mines on the passenger side, but I've seen some on the drivers side.

If energizing the fuel pump relay causes the fuel pumps to run, then the fuel pump cutoff inertia switch is not the culprit...... It's downstream of the relay.

Had a similar problem with a Taurus.

Turned out when I plugged in my code reader and did a KOEO test, nothing happened. Baffled me. Engine cranked though.

After much poking and prodding, I went out to the car and was about to put a bullet through the engine. I leaned on the radiator shroud, (with the key on), and all the key-on relays kicked on. The ECM harness touched the underside of the shroud, with the ECM right there as well.

Pulled the shroud, disconnected and reconnected the ECM, and the problem was solved. The ECM contacts can corrode, water might get in, etc.

Check there--you might be fixin' this fer free.

Got'er runnin

Thanks everybody for the help, I checked the fuses, and the Enertia switch, which had power, and it led me right to the Selector switch, being as i had power all the way to the switch, at the #2 prong, but nothing happen at the #3(rear tank pump) or the #1(Front pump), the fuel guage still read the tank change , because the sending unit, is seperated on the other side of the switch, so it could be still working, but the tanks won't energize....to check it, place a continuity tester on prongs #2&3 (rear tank) , toggle the switch, there should be continuity, do the same for prongs #1&2 for front tank, hope it helps someone else....
