Exclamation I need an ECM... what are compatible?

Title says it all. 87 F-150 4x4, 300 i6, C6 auto, no options (except a cassette player). The ECM part number is E7TF-12A650-X2C. What all ECM's would be compatible with this one?

So far, I have 5 options so far:
1. Pick n' pull junkyard
2. 87 Ranger 2.9 5 speed ECM (can't get the number right now)
3. 93 F-150 300 i6 5 speed ECM (can't get this one's number either)
4. 80-something Econoline 300 i6 (my buddy wants to sell me this one).
5. 91 F-350 4x4 351w 5 speed (sitting at my parents' house, 95 miles away).

I'm working on a college budget, and i know the ECM's still in the vehicles still work, but i'm a little iffy on the pick n' pull junkyards around here. Is there a certain set of numbers on the ECM that'll tell me it's compatible (first set-middle set-last set)? I've been googling this and nothing helpful has been coming up.

I can tell you right now....You'll need a one for a 300.....And either another 300/c6 truck, or a manual....either/or will fit.....

As for the automatics....Dig around, there's a thread running around.....Tells, IIRC, how to use a Auto ECM (Has trans-controller, if after 1990) and not have a trouble light....

More than likely number "4" if it had a AOD transmission in the van.

from what i've read, they don't have it hooked up from factory (correct me if i'm wrong)...

i've had 3 87 ford vehicles (ranger, bronco ii, f150) and i don't ever recall seeing a check engine light come on. even when my bronco ii had very clear issues, still no check engine light... i don't get it, maybe i had burnt bulbs in all 3?

well, even if it does have one, i'm not too concerned. never came on at all so it's one less light to be on while i'm driving

Yes it has one so do all the models you listed, should want to see it too. Notifies you if a problem arises you'd want to take care of.

As stated should light up key in "run" position engine not running.

Sounds like all previous owner thought they knew it all, had a better idea just take out the bulb.
Often done when selling a vehicle, attempt hide the fact has issue they do not know how to fix.
Issues that light gives first best clue too.

oh... huh... well, it would always stay on anyway because it's still going to throw an EGR code. i was taking scans on it weekly just to keep up to make sure something wasn't really wrong (which something was).

also, turns out the van had the same motor and trans as mine (300 i6 c6 auto) and the only differences were the van waas 2wd with a/c.
