How to Adjust Adjustable Rockers???

I have a set of Crane cobra full roller rockers on my 351W engine I am building. The intake manifold is off right now. What is the easiest way to adjust these? The motor has hydraulic roller lifters and they are pumped up good and firm.

I know they will probably need adjusting again after the motor has run a little.<!-- / message -->

Are these pedestal mount or stud mount rockers?

feeler gauge and a socket wrench... tighten down rocker until you can firmly slide the proper width feeler gauge in between the valve and the rocker. Shouldn't be hard or easy to get the feeler gauge in or out.

If they are stud mount , about 1/2 to 3/4 turn on the pre load , pedestal mount just torque them down , you don't need a feeler gauge unless you have solid lifters....Lew

That would be true for a mechanical lifter setup, but the OP stated they had hydraulic roller lifters.

As another response asked, is this a pedestal or stud mount rocker arm setup? if it is stud mount then do this:

Turn the crank/cam until the lifter is on the base circle of the cam (this is usually done by having that cylinder at TDC) then tighten down the rocker arm bolt until you can no longer spin the pushrod. The tighten down the nut 1/4 to 1/2 turn more to set the preload.

If you have pedestal mount then you may have to play with different thickness shims until you get the proper preload.
