Should remember to unhook battery for a few minutes after the MAF cleaning. It helps the computer to reset and set the fuel ratios to your driving habits.
Should really look at the throttle body while the air intake is off and see if it needs cleaning also.

Unless you have a programmer installed and then before you disconnect the battery, re-program your computer to stock. Then after the computer clears, program your desired mode.

You don't have to return the truck to stock before you disconnect the battery. The tune stays in the pcms memory and stays there even if the battery is disconnected.

That's good to know. I always thought that after 20 minutes off the battery the computer would totally reset itself but I am assuming it resets for the last program you have installed.

Its possible Ford made some changes to the system on the newer trucks. However if you think about it if the programming would be lost without battery power it wouldn't matter what tune was in, either tune would be gone. I did it to my truck last month when I cleaned the battery terminals and I had a non stock tune loaded. Everything was fine. You just need to make sure you don't lose power during the reflashing process or the truck will not start.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I just cleaned my MAF and then took the truck for a drive. I can definitely feel a difference in the throttle response.

Yes, many of us would not be aware of cleaning our MAF sensor, thanks a bunch.
