my truck steering wheel locked up when i needed to turn. i'm not sure what happened i started to slow down cuz the road was curving (going about 60 mph) and it was so tight like if it had no power steering. same thing yesterday so i had to go off to the side of the road when i took my foot off the brake the steering wheel loosened up a bit. worried help please.

 

Sounds like you need to take a look at your front axel propshaft universals! When they lock up from rust lack of grease ect... They can and do make it hard if not impossible to turn the wheel when they get to a certain point of rotation, I have seen them caches trucks to lock in hard right and left hand turns right into traffic! Its an often overlooked but easily fixed problem most shops throw a steering gear and new linkage at it first! Don't let them do that! Have the universals checked/changed and your problem should go away on edit also look at your ball joints a badly binding ball joint can cause some similar issues!

You might want to check out your power steering pump, fluid level, fluid condition, etc. I've had vehicles do this simply because they were low on fluid.
