Found the following post on Ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-1988-1989-1990-1991-Ford-F150-F450-Bronco-Transfer-Case-Shifter-W-Linkage-/161071130069?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25809665d5&vxp=mtr
If it is the right shift lever and linkage ...then it would appear 1987 - 1991 are the years. Is this what you're talking about Jas88? Having a problem with my 92 not shifting right now. Thanks

Awesome thanks Brad! literally to engage it you just pull it up or push down while the clutch is pressed correct?

To from 2wd to 4wd you pull back. Truck can be in gear and moving up to 40mph(but NOT while tires are spinning)
To go from 4wd to Neutral, you push down and pull back(truck MUST be stopped and in neutral, auto transmission, and clutch pushed in for sticks)
To go from Neutral to 4 low you pull back(truck MUST be stopped and in neutral, auto transmission, and clutch pushed in for sticks)

It is the reverse to go the other direction

Ok, I actually started another thread on this earlier in the day. I'm having the same problem. 95 F250 5.8L 5sp I have 2 & 4 but I can't get it to go to Neutral or 4LO. The outside of the body is clean Aluminum but when I pulled the bottom boot corrosion dust literally poured out. I pulled both boots and sprayed with PB blaster but I don't thinkit's getting inside by the spring. I have plenty of room under the truck, What do you guys think about just drilling a hole on the side of the body near the top and spray the oil inside? If I can get it to work, I can then tap the hole and install a zerk. Do you think this would work? The reason I ask is because with the way the pivot bolt is up on top I really don't know how I'd get a wrench up there and have the leverage to move it.

Probably be best to remove it and disassemble on the bench for a proper cleaning. If you want to avoid that, keep spraying it every day for a week or 2, maybe you will get lucky.

Reviving an old thread here...

Does anyone have a picture of the pre 92 shifter? And a part number for it? If I have to spend a couple hundred on a new one I'd rather spend it on the older one that won't break again.

I have a 97 f250hd, and the shifter moves between 2h and 4h just fine, but it won't push down. If I have to take this pos out to fix it, I'm not sure I want to put it back in.

Dorman now makes a replacement shifter that you can buy at your local parts store.
