Strange Dana 41 Rear End

The answer is Yes - According to Randy at Randy's Ring and Pinion they are a direct interchange - You can also upgrade to higher spline count axles.

The only hitch I see is that we all likely want to go to a lower ratio, which means you need a different carrier. Whether those new carriers are 100% compatible is a big question. Someone on here did a swap from a Jeep Grand Cherokee (?) and said there were problems with the spider gears and bearings. It got expensive. I'd much rather put new R&P in my 44 than stick a 9" in it.

Send an e-mail to Randy's Ring & Pinion. The Differential Experts. Auto Parts & Services. and explain what you want to do and ask for a price - He advertises r&p's from diff manf and the same with carriers - From near stock, lockers and fixed
I've pretty much decided to stick with the 41/44 and get a 3:50 or lower depending on my trans/tire selection

dana 41 dana 44

so i read the dana 41 and dana r&p are the same?? I have like a 4.2? in my dana 41 looking to go towards a 3.50 cant seem to find anything foe the 41
any help would be great!
