F1 feels about the size of a boat lmao
Today after doing some odds n ends to my truck I put my new seat I picked up last weekend inside the cab to size up everything, I sett the seat n and as I was setting in the cab with the door shut n driver side window down I really got a feel how big this truck really is and when I look out the frount window all I see hood I was like man this baby is a boat n I cant wait to drive it lmao... I aslo wanted to know how high should the seat bee ? As I have long legs and it seams to set low for me....

Once you get a chance to drive the truck on the road one overwhelming feeling you'll experience is the feeling of the truck driving sideways. Because the cab is narrower in the front than than the back if feels like it's dog tailing but you get the same feeling, but opposite, if you sit in the passenger's seat. You will get over it but it feels funny the first couple of times.

If you have a stock seat and you are over six feet tall you will be looking out the top 1/4 of the windshield. I'm 6'2" and that was my experience thus the reason I did not want stock seat. When I installed my Ford Ranger seat I lowered it (leaned it back) enough so that I could look through the center of the windshield. It also better positioned my arm so I could rest it on the door sill when cruisin' and made the traffic lights easier to see...

Vern,
I'm also 6'2" but have never had problems seeing out the front window, my truck is all stock. I suppose it's all how we're built, maybe you have more body than leg and I'm the other way around. The only problem I seem to have it steering wheel swell. For some reason the steering gets a little bigger every year. I think it's got something do to with the crappy material Ford used in their steering. Seems to absorb moisture during the long winter months.

I hear ya guys, that steering wheel just keeps gettin bigger....
I actually had to lower my stock seat, my head was hitting the roof and it was hard to see out. I sectioned 2" out of the riser, now all is good again. I'm 6' 4" and these old cabs are just a little on the small side for me.....

in my 64 (much more room that a bonus built) if i put on my winter carhartt coat, vest, hoodie, and long underwear for winter when its 30 friggin below out i can just barely fit behind the steering wheel and im only 5'10" ish. These old trucks are still some of the most comfortable things for me to drive tho.

Seems like a bunch of giants here. I'm sure we all push the springs down at different heights according the pressure we exert on them. What is it it pressure = mass / area?
If I'm not mistaken the cabs were actualy made so that you can wear a cowboy hat on while driving. Now I have only sat on bare springs without padding but it seems that my 6'1" body puts my eyes at about 2/3rds up. Of when you don't have visors sometimes it's nice being higher up.
