Door Hinge Question

I am having trouble fitting my passenger door on my 56. Does anyone know if the hinges are left and right? They look interchangible but if they are left and right it might explain some fittment problems. (The door is soooo out of alignment it won't close when the hinge bolts are tightened down). I have reamed out the holes on the hinge to increase adjustment too. I know the factory manual shows the door being "bent" with a type of clamp to align but right now it won't even close. The hinge pocket in the cab looks ok. The hinge face on the door where the hinge bolts on doesn't look bent either.

I have a door from one vehicle, cab and then hinges from a third donor. I think they are interchangible but when you look to buy a hinge at mid-fifty or similar site they show a left and a right hinge.

Just curious if anyone has some insight?

Thanks

Kevin

2) BAAA-8122800-A .. Right Upper & Lower Door Hinge.

2) BAAA-8122801-A .. Left Upper & Lower Door Hinge.

Applications: 1953/56 all trucks.

Re-hanging doors can be a real b!tch...especially if removed when the vehicle was on jackstands, then re-installed when it's on the ground.

I made this mistake...once! I spent five days re-hanging doors on a '55 T-Bird, chipping the he!! out of the fresh paint during the process.

Thanks for the quick reply and part numbers. Do you know if they are actually different hinges for each side though or just different part numbers for the same part?

The part numbers are different because the hinges are specific to either the right or left side.

Upper/Lower is the same, but Right/Left makes a difference.

If all four hinges were the same, there would only be one part number.
