O.K. here I go, where is the sending unit located for my water temp guage? I have a 95' 4.9l auto 2 wd w/air....is it on the left side down on the block sorta behind the oil filter? yes my guage is acting wierd and so is the fuel guages. any help would be nice and most likely a repeat. I'm not sure on how to search.

 

There are 2. The one for the computer is in the heater hose off the thermostat housing. The one for the guage is in the block on the passenger side above the starter. Pull the codes 1st to see whAt's going on before you start throwing parts/money at it.

 

good advice and that's what I will do when I know how to do that? I do not see a port anywhere, my 04' e350 has one in plain sight but my 95' is a mystery? any suggestions? and thank you for responding.

 

Ground the block water temp sensor terminal and see if your gauge goes full scale. If all of the gauges are giving you trouble it could be a bad ground for the cluster. The OBDI port is located on the driver's side fender near the firewall. Go to fordfuelinjection.com for info on pulling the codes.
