Hey everyone

We are swapping a 302 into a bmw 318is and have run into a small issue with one of the head bolt dowels or guides.

When we removed the driver side head, the guide came out on the front bolt.

I'm not sure if this is a huge issue but I don't want to just wing it.

There isn't much of the guide showing and I'm jot sure if I should try to pry it put and replace it. Or just leave it.

I'm looking for any input or tips from your experience on this issue.

That may be the correct position for it. It has been several years since I worked on one of those but I think I remember them being like that take a look at the new head gasket and see if the hole size allows for it. If you need to reposition it try a brass hammer.

We managed to gently tug it out after applying some Movit. It's in it's proper place now.
