Oil leak 1994 f250

I just bought a 1994 f250 V8 5.8L super cab to take out to the farm we lease. Two days ago there was no oil leak. Now it seems they are all over the place. I put down some cardboard yesterday morning to see where it was really coming from. It looks like it is in an almost straight line with the oil pan. There is no evidence of oil (or any other fluids) above the bottom half of the oil pan. Any comments are appreciated...

From the looks of the amount of deposits on the chassis, I'd guess it's had this problem for a while.

Maybe check for a clogged up PCV valve or hose, causing excessive back pressure in the crankcase, excessive blow by into the tranny pan from worn or clogged up piston ring lands, or maybe the tranny pan fastners are loose & need to be torqued up & or excessive back pressure has blown out the tranny pan gasket.

Some thoughts for pondering, let us know what you find.

Hard to say. Could be the pan gasket or rear main seal since you say no oil is above the pan line. I'd clean everything up really good with engine brite or some kind of heavy duty degreaser and see if you can pinpoint the leak. I know on the 302s liked to leak at the valve cover cover gaskets and drip down, don't know if the 351s were the same way. Could try a high mileage oil formulation and see if that helps at all. Leaking that much it may not help.

Thanks for the responses guys. I took my son down to Home Depot today (about a 50 minute round trip), and it has a "huge" puddle under the plactic cap you can see in the third picture. It was clearly dripping from there.

Definitely check the PCV like said above. And if you didn't already, make sure your oil filter and plug is tight. Looks like a lot of drips around the plug and looks really wet on the same side that the oil filter is on the engine...just an idea if you haven't already.
