What camper shells are compatible with a 1980 Ford Courier?

Just bought a beautiful Ford Courier but have found that the bed dimensions are different from most "standard" shells. It measures roughly 87.5x59 inches. Just wondering what other models have equivalent bed dimensions so I can know what to look for when searching craigslist, etc. for camper shells. I've been searching so many websites and feel really stuck. Any info would help a lot.

Thanks!

Claudia

Welcome first poster! I had one on mine but that was 30 years ago, all the beds are larger today. Only thing small that comes to mind is the Cheby Luv but not sure at all on their box sizes.
Some one here once said there is a more dedicated Courrier site you might find. You say you've done the web searches so I don't know where to point you other than a modified larger one from a custom place. Good luck and enjoy your stay, make it a long one!

Yeah, it's a bit of a sticky one. The bedliner is immaculate though, so perhaps I could find out who fitted it, in case they know what other makes are compatible. Sigh, or just build my own, which is looking far more attractive by the minute. Thanks so much for your reply though!

ford couriers i beleive were twins to the early mazda's, the same way a chevy luv & isuzu p'up were similar, you may have to make due with a wide board between the cap & bed. i bought a used cap for a longbed full-size then found out the cap was wider than the box. used some oak 1x4's to make up the difference. worked for me.

You may also want to check some of the wrecking yards around your area for a cap on some of the Mazda or Datsun (Nissan) pick ups of the same era. Some yards have a good cap sitting around or on a truck out in back and they just let it sit instead of getting rid of it as junk.
