rear driver side door won't open

My rear driver's side door won't open from either outside or inside the truck. I bought it this way and haven't tried to fix it until now. Reason why, neighbor's kid rolled the window down and now the thing won't roll back up. So I have a door that won't open with a window that won't work that is rolled all the way down. Bad combination when it rains. Enough griping. Priority #1 is to get the door open then trouble shoot the window from the inside. Anyone had this similar problem with a crewcab? Both my front doors work great, its the rear ones that give me trouble. I need to get this thing open.

Mine did the same when I got it. Ended up being that the little plastic tip on the manual lock pin (sticks out the top of the door skin beside the window) was broken and the metal rod had fallen into the door. It was hitting against the frame of the door when I hit the power unlock button and wouldn't let the mechanism travel far enough to unlock the door.

I ended up getting the screws out of the door panel while it was shut and then getting everything straightened out so I could open the door.

Like DIY said it could be the lock pin has fallen into the door skin. However, if you're having window and door issues, I'm willing to bed the wiring is bad. I have multiple issues on my CC. The wiring was bad on the drivers side and needed new pieces soldered in. The passenger lock pin won't move at all and I'm willing to bet it's a bad lock actuator. You need to pull the door skin and get that puppy open to see where your problem truly lies. DIY, how did you get your door skin off without the door opening? Did you pull the backseat?

By the way, it's a common problem on these rear doors

Yup. have a slow sticky left rear door lock too. right rear window works, or not depending on how hard the right front door is slammed. i pulled the left rear door skin and went through the entire mechanism with wd40 and spray lithium grease. the lock poper is shot but i was able to lube some additional life back in it. Its still slow but will actually unlock the door now. are these actuators available still? has anyone ever replaced one? looks all but impossible to get out not to mention its pop riveted in there.

Try this link for some assistance with the PDL problems.

I thought I had one with pictures, but can't find it. I'm still looking. I'll post that info, too, if I find it.

Well, the voices in my head said I was crazy and started laughing at me, again.

Evidently, I don't have a write-up with pictures so I'll stop looking now.

So, my only option is to do what this guy did- take them apart and use aluminum foil to get them to work again.

Have you isolated the problem? If your window won't go up, you have multiple issues
