DPF Fluid in SoCal
Just wondering if anyone in the San Diego area has found DPF fluid in any of the stores. I know I can get it from my dealer but I hear it is cheaper from stores like Walmart. I have checked O'Reilly’s, and Walmart to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking you mean DEF; diesel exhaust fluid.
DPF means diesel particulate filter.
I have seen DEF at my local Walmart, O'rielly's, and Flying J truck stop. I paid $13.99 for a 2 1/2 gallon jug with fill spout at a Flying J, while on the road last week. I plan on keeping the jug and fill spout and seeing if I can find a bulk fill place. It is usually cheaper there.
Hope you find a source close by.

Fleet Farm also has it. They have the best price I've seen, $10.95 for 2 1/2 gallon of Blue DEF. Wish I could store a couple of cartons. RVing in MN right now and DEF isn't sposed to be stored above 85 degrees.
That brings up an interesting point, to me at least. If your not sposed to store DEF above 85 degrees, what about the DEF in your truck? It's 95* here in Rochester, MN right now. Isn't that the same as storing it above 85*? Maybe I will go back to Fleet Farm and get some. HMMMM

Maybe the Walmart web site has a search function where you can identify locations that carry a particular item, like some other websites do.
I've gotten it from Pilot, Flying-J, and Ford (originally, to get both the 1-gallon and 2-1/2 gallon containers and fill spouts).
Frankly, we use so little of it by comparison to the price of diesel, oil, etc., that I don't worry about the price of it, because it only amounts to fractions of a cent per mile no matter the general going prices per gallon for DEF, even Ford's.

I bought 2 gallons from O'Reillys and have used 1 so far. It was not on the shelf so I had to ask for it and the first clerk had no idea what I was talking about. Her coworker did know and he got it from a shelf behind the counter.
I've seen it on the shelf at WalMart, but I think auto parts places may keep it in back as it may not be a fast moving item.
Regarding the storage temp, my understanding is that the DEF tank is insulated to protect the fluid from degradation. I think the temp caution is for longer term storage, not sitting in the vehicles DEF tank, but I've been wrong a whole lot of times in my life!
