2011 Superduty- removed airdam/valance
Well I snapped part of the big airdam off driving out of a sand wash or something, I unbolted it and tossed the remains in the recycling bin.
I didn't see a wiring harness like I think I saw in some other posts I found on the net, but there are two big scoops or brackets hanging down from the frame rails. Are they really to keep the truck from mounting a Hyundai or Honda like a steer if I rear-end it? It's the only thing I can think they could be of used for.
It looks kinda funny with the airdam gone- I think I'll look around for a shorter replacement.
BTW- I love this truck. Almost 3000 miles on it since special ordering it for a weekend fun truck/go-get-stuff/desert rat vehicle in April.

I'd say, if you find yourself driving in and out of sand washes where there's a little bit of a dropoff or overhang, and if there's a shorter version of the valance for your 2002, it would be worth getting. It still might get bashed off if you're really having fun I guess!
Those big drop-down brackets on the frame rails stick out a little now on mine with the shorter valance- I'm still wondering what those are?
