fuel from front tank ending up in back tank
I noticed that fuel from the front tank is making its way into the back tank. its the check valve I think some people say its in the tank but I had the recall done on mine and believe it has a check valve on the outside of the tank..were can I find a new valve to put on there?

There was a post on here a few years back, the guys tank select solenoid got suck in between the 2 lines.
My '76 F250 did the same thing, and it came spewing out of my rear tank fill port, a guy in traffic rolled down his window "GAS", after trying for a bit to convince him that I knew my old truck used a lot of it, a police officer came over and told me to pull over, I was spilling fuel all over the ground.
When all was said and done, I had emptied my front tank into my "Dead Rear" (the switch never worked, my son was fooling with it that morning, so much for "Don't do that, it doesn't work") and it was then targeting my auxiliary tank (now half full) in the bed, had filled both of them for a trip my son and I were taking (Cheyenne to Omaha) and had to plug the line, and dump another $100 or so back in before we could leave.
Hope you get it fixed bud.

I'm unsure of the year of you truck, but I also had the recall performed on mine, sometime, way back in the day. Mine is a '92. It performed well until March 2010. Then the Shuttle Valve went bad in the FDM, which is located in the pump itself, and starting dumping fuel into the rear tank. I believe you're due for a new fuel pump...You can pick up a new Airtex pump for about $130. Really good deal unless you go the Motorcraft route and spend $400 or so. I have performed 3 fuel pump changes on both my '92's and to say the least, I'm very happy with Airtex. I had to replace both front and rear tank pumps on my 302, '92 and the front fuel pump on my 300, '92.
Dropping the front tank is much easier than the rear. If you decide to do this yourself, I would also advise in Lisle fuel line disconnect's available from your local parts store or online. Keep plenty of PB Blaster on hand and start soaking the bolts that attach the straps to the tank.
Do a search here on FTE and you find this topic widely known.
Hope this helps.
