Remote mounted module?

Hello, I'm looking to replace my ignition coil and Rock Auto gives me 4 different motorcraft coils for Standard and Automatic transmissions. For the Automatic it has: Automatic trans.; w/ Remote Mounted Module; F2TE-12127-AA
Automatic trans.; w/ Distributor Mounted Module; F2TE-12127-AA

Which one do I get? Does my VIN number give me a code to look up to say which is which?

I tried the search function but nothing came up on this particular subject.

Are you wanting to replace the Ignition Coil or the Ignition Module?
I do not understand what you are saying.

That list on RockAuto is showing that it fits all of those configurations. If you want the Motorcraft one, the P/N is DG470.

That should be a Ford #F2TE-12127-BA.
It does not make any difference if it is auto or standard or where the Ignition Module is mounted, it takes the same coil.

I just installed that same MSD coil you pictured. Its nice and was only a dollar or two more then the standard coil that Advance Auto had.

Why? Problems with the MSD?
