Gas hose f-100 1977 replacement

im trying to replace a gas hose on my 1977 F-100 and i am new to automotive work so any help is helpfull but on the top of my gas tank i have 2 hoses the both are clamped on and move to the spout where you put gas in and they connect to each other at the end and i have to replace both of them due to cracking and leeking and i cant reach the clamps on the tank due to the bed so how do i replace this hose? do i remove the bed? or lower the tank? well i tryed to lower the tank and after i got the 2 straps off it would not budge. i guess i could just cut the hose off and cut the clamp i just cant reach there the screw is on the clamp.

if i posted this in the wrong section plz let me know so

I'm having trouble reading your post because of how little punctuation you have used. In order to get the best help, you need to slow down and make sure that others can read it.

Based on what I could make out of your question - are you talking about the filler and vent hose (larger set), or the sending unit and evaporative emissions hose (smaller set)? In either case you'll need to drop the tank down. If it hits the frame rails, try taking it down at an angle.

Just did mine on my 78 inside measure was 2.25". Just get the right size hose and make sure its rated for fuel! The hose I got was $ 23 a foot, needed 16" so I had to by two feet!

You can get the filler hose here

Rear Filler Neck Hoses 1973-79 Truck

If you already went to the trouble of taking off the bed, this may be a good time to figure out why you can't lower the tank and replace straps if need so that way if a problem arises in the future, you'll be able to lower the tank and not have to take the bed off.

The hose I used was ribbed and seems to bend and flex nicely it was on the rear tank though id think it should work for front as well! Oh and make sure your gauge works before putting everything back together I get to take mine apart! Also does anybody know where to get the screen that goes on the pickup tube found one through ford they want $ 45!

Your fuel gauge in your dash make sure the sending unit is working before putting the bed back on!

Mid-Ship Fuel Tank filler hoses:

If the F100/350 has evaporative emission, the hose (D5TZ-9047-C) is obsolete. No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

If the F100/350 does not have evaporative emission, the hose (D5TZ-9047-D) has been reproduced by Dennis Carpenter.

Yup that is how it always works. Once you fix the problem you find an easier solution.
