79 f250 hood release mechanism
I have a 79 f250 with the manual hood release lever in the grill and you pull the lever and lean on the hood to pop the hood, fords better idea. What would one do to make the mechanism easier to pop the hood open, right now i have to lean on the hood with a lot of weight to get the hood to pop, i am close to getting torn rotator cuff surgery, lol. I greased every contact point in the mechanism itself, so it must be an adjustment. There are two bolts holding the entire setup where i can adjust up, down, right, left. What makes the hood pop when pressing down on the hood, is it that cone shaped spring on the hood itself causing resistance. The hood is perfectly aligned with the fenders and is not rubbing the front grill, thanks for any input.

You have to adjust the height till you find the sweet spot, so to speak. Do you have the outer rubber bump stops on the fender top edge and are they new?
If I remember you have it adjusted to far down. Just raise it a bit, its a process that takes patience.
The spring under the hood makes it pop up when you release it, so you might make sure its has some spring length in it.
