75 f100 4x4 with 360

I was lookin at investin in a f100 with a 360, good condition and all and the guy wants 500 for it, but I have no real experience with the 360's, can anyone give me some specs on these, mpg, hp, torque, etc. I wanted to get it and do some mods to it, 550 cfm holley, headers and the like, and run 33-35s on it, and was also lookin for an opinion on what gears I should run?, its got 3.50 now. Thanks

The very first mod i'd do to a 360 is install a rotating assembly from a 390, don't expect too much in the mpg department, 12mpg at best (give or take), with 35's i'd run 4.10's, depends what you're using the truck for though.

yea thats what I read that the '60 and '90 are virtually the same except for the stroke? I was gonna use it as a little of everything truck, daily driver, tow the boat, do a lil' off roadin.

'60 leaves enough clearance?, and I hate to ask this, but does anyone know a site or personal info about swapping cranks and connecting rods, Ive done it in smaller things like lawn mowers and dirtbikes and a harley once, but 8 cylinders is a big difference and I dont wanna mess anythin up, Im pretty much on my own here and I dont wanna take it to a shop, thats not how to learn ya know.

390 pistons are different than 360 pistons.

The 360/390 blocks are the same, have the same bore (4.05"), only the stroke is different.

The 360/390 heads are the same. 1972/76 360/390 (marked D2TE-AA) heads have hardened valve seats.
