I'm considering a set of headers and was wandering which manufacturer I should consider best?

Thanks

Hedman or Hooker. I've heard good about both. Ford Racing too. But you're into $$$'s now. Be sure to stay away from cheaper ones as they can bring more problems down the road. Go with quality gaskets such as copper and new studs.

I'm sure other's will chime in with experience from various manufactures.

I'm considering headers as well, depending on how my manifold comes apart later this week.

Last night I spent several hours reading all the posts I could find here or elsewhere on "Ford 460 headers" and related searches.

If I go the header route I'll likely go L and L or Thorley. If I wanted power and looks (not just no more leaks!) I'd highly consider Banks.

But the above is just from reading lots of posts about L and L, Thorley, Banks, Gibson, Hedman, Hooker, and several others... I really have no personal experience.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide and how it goes!

I just installed flowtech on my 1995 4x4 with no problems. Went with flowtech raptor mufflers too.

if you are trying to get by cheap you can look for 5.0/302 and 5.8/351w headers on your local CL. Craigslist > Cities

I found a new set of ford SB 302/351w hedman headers for $100!

Flowtechs fit in there fine but hang much too low IMO so I wouldn't recommend them. You definitely want truck specific headers too the car versions will cause you all sorts of headaches with frame and drivetrain clearance.

I've heard good things about the Banks headers for the 460, and Doug Thorley's Tri-Y headers are supposed to be really good too.
