DIESEL RANGER

looks great, my truck is needing a refresh on the paint. i was going to keep the colors oem, but now i'm leaning toward a light tan on top with a dark burnt orange lower paint scheme. i need to replace one door skin and remove the tie downs along the outside of the bed. i'm tired of snagging shirts on them... i'm planning on installing a sliding tie down system on the inside of the rail.

consider a south of the border, range rover or ranger. using the brazil built, power stroke 2.5 / 2.8 turbo. very reliable and parts shouldn't be to hard to get. b sure to order the complete engine, clutch, transmission when you contact the importer/salvage yard.
my other choice would be the cummins 2.8

As much as I am a Ford guy, I have always really liked Nissans. I had 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, 2003 Supercharged Frontier and currently have a 2004 Maxima.
If the Titan came with that new 4 cylinder Cummins all hell will break loose! That is sweet!
I am pretty partial to the Isuzu 4BD as the previous company I worked for had 12 Sakai compactors that had that engine and the company I currently work for has 6 in panel delivery style trucks. So I am fairly familar with them. Can't kill them and they start-up no matter what.
The Cummins is plentiful, but moreso as a complete vehicle rather than as a single engine.

reply to 2.2 liter perkins diesel inquiry
Hello Montana: I do have a 2.2 liter Perkins diesel which came out of a 1984 Ranger pickup. I still have the transmission attached but I have removed the alternator, the fan and radiator. This however will probably not do you any good because I live in British Columbia (Canada).

I don't have one but I recently found one for sale. Been trying to see what it's worth. The body us shot, frame is ok, engine and transmission have 60,000 miles. The owner said make him an offer. I don't want to low-ball him and make mad. But I don't want to over pay either.
