New 1977 F250 SuperCab (460) owner
I just picked up my truck on Monday
drove it around town all day monday and tuesday
then drove it home (75 miles) tuesday
it's a 1977 Ford F250 Ranger Super Cab
it's got a 460 4bbl
I believe it's got the C6
unsure what rear end is in her
it's got a "Flex Steel" (conversion) interior very comfey
the truck has 135K miles on her
it was a "Farm Truck" for the last ten years
(just used to haul produce to town)
I picked this truck up for $600
to use it as a "Dump Run" truck, possibly do a little Local Camping
I'm new to the 460ci engine
and it's been a really long time since I had something with a carb.
hopefully she treats me well
the only issue I have run into so far,
the truck came with 16.5" wheels
and I can't find tires that fit for a reasonable price
I'm sure I'll come up with some questions sooner or later.

my 9 month old son "Cash" approves...

1. Nice truck for $600, get some 16' 8 lug stockers/take offs or search craigslist for some 16's up to a 98 (8 0n 6.5) will fit, 99 went 8 on 177mm no fit.
2. Keep the gm/car bs off here, this is a FORD truck site, if it doesn't have a transfer stick coming up outa the floor, or say FORD on the hood, WHO CARES!
Even your son knows what he wants to drive, A TRUCK! LMAO on that one.

You scoooooooooooored on that thing for 600 bucks! Haha, like oh my god what a score, no matter where you are. Up here that would be a 3000$ truck noooo QUESTION. Ya though, SuperCab is the model, a Crew Cab has 4 doors, and is much rarer.
GREAT find though, geez where were they all when I was looking....
And MUD, check your junkyards, the visors are just as good used, and pretty commonly just left on otherwise trashed old trucks (they don't rust). I picked up mine for I think 45$? It was just a little dinged on a corner.

Very nice truck man. The previous owner, when you got him to sell it for $600, was he at gunpoint? lol
I'm not pleased with the bailouts that GM took, and because of that, if I were to buy a new vehicle, it'd be a Ford. That said, I wouldn't say that there isn't any pre-bailout GM fans on the site. I've got my F-150 now, but prior to that, I had a '67 C-20, and and '72 C-10, and both were great trucks.

Thats a sweet truck for $600!!!!! Id take that wooden railing off the bed and look for some new rims and tires if you can afford it. Craigslist usually has some kinda deal or try ebay. You will have a hell of a time finding tires for 16.5 rims so I would just buy a set of 16inch rims and tires but make sure they are the 8 lug bolt pattern for the old body style fords (I think 97 and older) and NOT for anything newer. Not sure where you are at but here is an example: 16" Ford Alloy Rims and Tires
Wouldn't be my first choice because I like the bigger ovals like on eagle alloy rims, but something like that would still work.

I don't know if it was "mollested" or not,
but the seller mentioned it had the "one ton rear end"
I only ganced, I figured it would have a 9"
so that's what I think I saw
I'll get under the tuck and check when it's dry out

Thanks
I knew it wasn't a Crew Cab,
not sure what I was thinking when I typed that
the guy mentioned something about a "Camper Special"
I am unclear as to what that includes (or means)

it was a "Farm Truck"
I was actually on my way to meet someone from craigslist selling a 1991 6cyl crewcab
it had a cardboard sign saying $1000 obo
and when I called he mentioned that obo means Cash Talks
it was just taking up space
and they had only started it (about a month earlier) after sitting for several months, just to move it up to the road to sell
the wife seemed a little emotional about getting rid of her
and told me her name was "Brown Betty"
the guy seemed relieved to not have to worry about it anymore
