Updated fuel spring part #

Anyone have this part number off hand? I want to call my ford dealer and see if they have it.

I have to tow a loaded trailer this weekend and would like to have it done by then.

How hard is it to replace?

not hard. pull the return line off unbolt the four screws that hold that thing on. (forgot what its called, i think its the regualtor though) then remove the spring and replace. thats how i think it would go. i said the hell with it since i wanna do injectors one day and put a regulated return on. i love it makes the truck run smoother

Or, folks can get Bismic's spread sheets. You would be amazed at what there is in those.

this is for the kit
3c3z-9t517-ag $$ 76.65$$ regulator kit
this kit has the blue spring with all the gaskets for the upper fuel bowel and lines

if you dont need the gaskets just get the spring it was like 25.00 IIRC
this is one of those deals it takes longer to find the tools than to change the spring

So, this Part # 3C3Z-9T517-AE has the housing part in it,

and part # 6E7Z-9C165-B has just the spring and seal?

Is that right?

Part # 3C3Z-9T517-AE does have the housing part in it

Part # 6E7Z-9C165-B should be just the spring and seal.

I have not personally verified the second part number content, but I have been told by several sources that that is what it is. Partsguyed and tousleyfordparts on-line ordering does not find that part though.

I was ordering a slew of parts (hpop, oil cooler, inj orings, intake kit, etc...) from Tousley a few weeks ago and asked about this spring. They tried to sell me the 3C3Z-9T517-AE part ($50-60) and said he could not find a reference to the spring itself. I said never mind I'll continue to use my BB.

I did not have the 6E7Z-9C165-B part number to inquire about. Until now...

I searched the base part number (middle part) of bismic's part number in a Ford to IH crossreference list that I have. It found this number: 3C3Z 9C165 AA. The crossreference is probably outdate to some extent (08/2005), but the base numbers generally stay the same and it does pull up on Tousley's website.

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=3 width="100%" border=1 border***************><TBODY><TR><TD class=titleText colSpan=2>Part Number: 3C3Z9C165AA</TD><TD class=titleText noWrap align=right width=75>List Price</TD><TD class=titleText noWrap align=right width=75>Core Price</TD><TD class=titleText noWrap align=right width=75>Your Price</TD></TR><TR><TD class=tabletext width=7><INPUT class=tabletext type=checkbox CHECKED value=42810 name=partid_1> <INPUT type=hidden CHECKED value=3 name=catalogid_1> <INPUT type=hidden value=%20KIT%20ENG%20FU%2FFLTR%20SE name=partname_1> <INPUT type=hidden value=3C3Z9C165AA name=partnumber_1> <INPUT type=hidden value=10 name=makeid_1> <INPUT type=hidden value=29.205 name=yourprice_1> </TD><TD class=tabletext width="80%"><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=3 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=tabletext width="100%">KIT ENG FU/FLTR SE </TD><TD class=tabletext align=middle></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD><TD class=tabletext align=right width=75>$44.25</TD><TD class=tabletext align=right width=75>$0.00</TD><TD class=tabletext align=right width=75>$29.21</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The IH number in my crossreference doesn't match one of the two listed on this site, but again my list is outdated to some extent. I mainly use it as a starting point for parts searching.

waddell_cd: Your dealer has absolutely no clue, or is trying to pull a fast one, because...

3C3Z-9T517-AG superceded (replaced) 3C3Z-9T517-AE

Info source: When the 3C3Z-9T517-AE part number is typed into the Ford Dealer Parts Locator System, and/or PARTSGUYED.COM website: That's exactly what it says = SUPERCEDED!

They might have some left over and are tryin' to pawn one off onto you.

And, just for sh**s and giggles: 3C3Z-9T517-AE = The last MSRP was $73.32, dealer net cost was: $43.99.

This is the above and beyond kit that includes the housing, which is not necessary to replace unless you used caveman strength on the bolts or return line and cracked the casting.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

<o>Some people could care less one way or the other, but for those looking to save a few bucks and are quick on the draw...</o>
<o></o>
There is an elusive kit that only contains the spring and o-rings/seals for about half the price you shelled out. The part number (FoMoCo or IH) and source location is what the aforementioned posts above were looking for.<o></o>
<o> </o>
The Ford stealership will try to sell you the above and beyond kit unless you are a worthy adversary and have found this elusive part number.<o></o>

Uh huh, but it's obsolete, not serviced, no longer available from FoMoCo any longer...because...it was replaced by 3C3Z-9T517-AG

There are dozens of AE's still available from FoMoCo Dealers, but you cannot order it from FoMoCo, because it was replaced by ^ ^ this number.

FoMoCo is in-famous for replacing (updating/superceding) 10's of 1000's of part numbers EVERY YEAR! Keeping track of all these part number changes is a royal PITA!
