Arrow What controls power windows, door locks and radio?

What controls the power windows, door locks and radio in my 2003 (7.3) F-250?

When it is hot outside and the cab is hot on the inside, the power windows, door locks and radio hesitate to operate up to 10-15 minutes , then they decide to work.

I was told it is a separate component from the ECU.

Thanks for your help with this issue.

There is an accessory delay circuit. It allows the accessories to remain active after the key is off, until a set time elapses or a door is opened. On later vehicles (2004+), their is a relay, powered by a timer circuit in the instrument cluster. The accessories are powered through that relay. On earlier models I'm not certain if the delay relay power came from the cluster or the GEM module. You'd need some wiring diagrams to be sure.

Your problem could be at the relay power (cluster or GEM), or at the relay itself, which should be in the Central Junction Box.

try tapping on your fuse box panel with truck running and watch and see if the radio comes on or hold down on power window button with truck running and tap on fuse box panel
