Serpentine Belt

How difficult is it to change the serpentine belt on a 2002 Ford Excurison with the V-10. I have the tool to release the tension. Also I got a fuel filter at Fram fuel filter and the ends are not the same as the one that is currently on the Excursion. I have 160,000 miles on it, already changed plugs, new coil packs, had tranny serviced anything else anyone suggests to change or check out?

Thanks!

Extremely easy to change the belt - just make sure it's on the right way. The fuel filter should have snap fittings on each end like this one and you just need the release tool.

I would also change diff. oil and transfer case oil (4x4).

Just a tip, keep your old belt as a spare in the rim of the spare tire. If the new belt snaps, then you'll have a spare to get you out of a bind if you're out in the middle of nowhere.

Fuel Filter

I went to Orielly's and got the fuel filter and the supposed tool to remove the clips. I still can't figure this out. I am feeling dumb. The end towards the back of the Excursion is a black pipe with a blue clip it looks like of some kind. I can't figure it out, the tool from Orielly's does not look like it works on it. The other end towards the motor has a metal clip which I unclipped. The new fuel filter came with two white clips like the Fram one but it does not look the same.
