after adding the ras to the rear springs of a 6.0, has anybody changed their front springs to the next beefier set? My fronts see weak, over medium bump the bottom out. I suppose i could shorten the bump stop?

EXv10 is yanken ur chain(hence the smiley). Front spring swaps are very comin on Exs. Search V-code springs in the Excursion forum and all the info you need is there.
Changing the front springs on my '02 was the very first thing I did. The RAS was the last thing. go to V codes and if you want even more lift , look at the X codes. It's a fairly easy swap (just takes some time) and i did it myself (no helper at all) alhtough it would be easier wiht a couple of extra hands.
Curt's05 - I have a 4WD and my front shocks were well, shockingly bad! When I changed out the springs for the V codes, I replaced them with Rancho 5000s. They are "stock" part numbers for the 4WD EX. I have not done the rear shock yet.
I measured my wheel well heights yesterday (after seeing something in another thread about "sagging" V codes on the front) and the front measures 39 in when measured from ground over the center of the Hub to the bottom of the Wheel well trim. The back measures 40.5 in. Ther eis a slight rake to the EX which I think is better looking and when I tow the TT with the WD hitch, the vehicle "rake" drops about 3/4 to 1 in.
Keep in mind that the tire size will make some difference in heights but not clearance. I have upsized the tires to 285's over the factory 265's. The EX likes a wider stance. There about 1.75 in to 2 in clearance between my front springs and the Bumper Stops (which are original). I know some guys have actual cut their Bumper Stops off at the first rib to provide more clearance.
I'm doing the front v spring swap this weekend, do i need to remove my bumper? Or will the spring slide in from the back? For future spring swappers through my ford guy both v code springs were $275.00

You will need to remove the bumper to be able to remove the front spring bolt. The bumper is very easy to remove.
I did not need to remove the front bumper (but the "barrier bar" across the fornt to keep the subcompacts from sliding under the EX) did have to come off.
It would be easier to remove the bumper. There was a link to a pictorial on the process. I'll see if I can find it and post.
The only problem with that write up is he doesn't advise to remove the front bumper. So when you get to this part of the instructions: "Unfortunately, the front leaf spring eye-bolts are not easy to get to, so you have to remove the corner bumper supports."
...just ignore them and remove the front bumper. 4 bolts and it's off. Easy-peezy.
Just finished the v code spring mod on the 05 ex. 4 hr job with 2 people, front went up 1.5", short ride home noticed firmer ride. Front bumper was 4 main bolts + 3 for brace on each side. We used a fork lift lifting off the recovery hook, use a 3 ton jack to lift the axle. Remove tire, lower shock bolt, u bolts & spring bolts. You have to install the rear spring bolt first, then front bolt. Have prying tools or come along to pull the axle forward to align the front spring bolt. Thanks to everybody who chimed in!
