New injectors

Ive been changing a few stuff on my 2002 5.4 with 140k miles besides some "performance mods", maintenance wise I changed the o2 sensors (bosch) kn filter, fuel filter etc..

Im wanting to change my injectors for new ones but dont know what brand to go with, and what size. Ive heard that the stock 5.4 2v uses 19lbs ones and people usually go for 24lbs ones. So my questions are:

1. Will my truck perform better with the 24lbs injectors?
2. Will it get worse millage with 24lbs ones?
3. what brand is recomended?

For reference my mods are, obx Long tubes, true duals 2 High flow cats 2.5" pipes and cherry bombs, dual electric fans, gotts mod, and a gryphon tunner.

I found these ones for a stock replacement:

F150 Fuel Injectors 1986 - 2003 5.0L 5.8L 4.6L 5.4L V8 - eBay (item 330546682150 end time Apr-01-11 19:44:38 PDT)

Dont know if they are any good

Thanx
Joe

Sorry but I can't speak to your exact question but I will address a direction you're heading.........

Through these forums I've discovered anything other than OEM O2 sensors are to be avoided----seems the Bosch brand has proven most problematic after installation.

Same thing with injectors. From Summit Racing I've found them for like $29 each and claims they're "OEM quality" but I find that hard to believe personally. My '00 E250 with 5.4 and 248K miles still has original injectors and according to most diagnosis they're performing well to this day.

In most instances cheaper will NOT get you better performance!

19lb injectors are good for over 300hp there is no reason to go to 24's, and really no reason to even change yours if you aren't having any misfires.

As for O2's my stockers were Bosch and I have run Bosch replacements for 100K miles. I think JWA might be confusing them with Bosch Spark plugs which are total junk in the modulars.

DON'T try to clean O2 sensors. It will damage them. Bosch O2 sensors are great. The OEM O2 sensors are made by Bosch usually. Their spark plugs are crap.

You can not put larger injectors in there without custom tuning because the computer with not know the difference and the injector pulse length will not shorten, so the it will run way too rich.
The 19's are more than enough for the 5.4L in your truck.

As for the eBay injectors are just remanufactured stockers. Probably OK, but for the same money or less, you can have yours cleaned on the truck.
Just a note, My 19lb injectors in my 88 Mustang still work perfect after 167K miles. I just recently upgraded to 24# because my MAF is calibrated for them and I have better heads, cam etc.

This is exactly what I did----apologies all around for mixing parts and casting bad reputations!

Plug wise ALWAYS use the MotorCraft specified--if not mistaken they come properly gapped and trying to change that may damage the electrode's coating. There are many threads here and in the V10 forum about the proper way to change plugs----its good reading and we can all learn a lot from others experiences both good and bad!

Bosch has always made top quality parts but sometimes they don't fit certain applcations which happens to all manufacturers from time to time. <!-- / message -->

Yep, the Motorcraft double platinum plug works best in these engines. I would replace the PCV valve with a Motorcraft unit as well with that mileage just to be safe.
