I know the question has been asked (did the search) BUT I'm still not clear on; If I was to (on my 95 F150 "MASS AIR" 5.8 4x4) change the 19s out to 24s, could I get away with just changing the mass air out to a 24lb mass air meter (say using a 24lb C&L or Pro M ) I did this for years in the 5.0s Mustangs and have learned alot about tuning them that way (ol school guy) I'm planning to do a rebuild with some better heads and a cam...and don't want to do a tweeker/tuner/ chip ...will the exchange work like the stangs did????
Thx Joe
You can talk to the guys at pro m , they can set up a meter for your truck , you just need to tell them what you have done to the motor . It will come with a flow sheet & be matched to your injectors . I recomend getting the matched set of injectors , they are flow tested to make sure they all have the same flow rate ... Lew
The ideal solution would be a custom tune for the computer to change the injector scaling factor, but a recalibrated MAF sensor usually works well enough for most people.
I agree with Eric , if you want a good tune you need a custom chip. When you start to do hi performance to a truck computer you will need to reset your rev limiter , shift points, air fuel ratio, timing curve, its not the same as a mustang computer . So its up to you how far you are going to go... Lew

I hear you guys, but I'm not trying to get everything out of it...trying to increase the power for a lift and 35s...without going broke. I did alot of tuning with 5.0s and got a few tricks on tuning the stock ECU...hopefully I can get there with it; Otherwise, I guess I'll try a piggyback system...I'm against "chips" they don't leave you much room to grow....unless you continue to pay for more tunes/chips burned.
You should know then that simply adding bigger injectors by themselves with or without a "calibrated" meter won't improve engine power output, you have to improve airflow through the motor before it will take advantage of increased fuel delivery capacity. And besides the engine the truck absolutely needs more gearing to perform with larger tires, hopefully you have already addressed these things.
