Hey there, my Bronco has developed this issue lately: Whenever its at operating temp. and i back up (i.e. to park), most of the times the truck will stall. It will fire right up but this is wearing my battery and starter. I can get it not to stall by pressing the gas, but this will hurt my tranny. So far i've only cleaned the IAC, but i'm thinking maybe dirty injectors here, what are your thoughts? any ideas or suggestions?.
Hello,
Is it doing it just when you put it into reverse or when you try and give it a little gas after putting it into reverse. Are you getting a CEL or any codes. Sounds to me like a IAC I know you cleaned it but a new on may be in order.
Yeah, i too keep thinking this is the original IAC and a new one might be in order. It does it just as soon as i put reverse. Giving it some gas actually prevents the truck from stalling but it's hard on the tranny. Anyway, my injectors need a good cleaning, so i'll try that before anything else. No CEL so far.
My DW's 95 Bronco is doing the same thing, just as it is put in Reverse it stalls- but can be started right up. And the worst part is it's not all the time, maybe the third or fourth times only.
