RANCHO QUICK LIFT
I am looking at putting some rancho quick lift rs9000 shocks on my 04 f-150. does anybody have these on theirs?
I want to lift the front 2 inches and the back 1 inch. if i lift it and run the same tires will it effect my gas mileage alot or not?
besides that are these shocks any good compared to the bilstiens?

Any aftermarket replacement shock will be an improvement over your factory ones. But are Rancho's better then Bilsteins? I don't think so. I really liked the HD set of Bilsteins I had on my 07 and will put a set on my 11.
Some think Bilstein's are too firm. I don't remember the Rancho's I ran years ago being anything but firm, but they were conventional shocks vs today's gas shocks. So not a good comparison.

Rancho's products are notoriously firm, unless you have 9000XL's that have the adjustable dial on them. I would suggest the Bilstein 5100s if you want a leveling shock/strut combo. The Bilstein uses the factory coil spring (maintains same spring rates, etc) but provides much better dampening with the aftermarket shock. The 5100 leveling shocks have 3 height settings: stock, +1", +2" so you can custom tailor your height.
You probably won't notice a drop in mileage if you keep your stock tire size, as the wind resistence really won't change, but if you upsize your wheels and tires, then you can certainly expect a drop in mileage.

I am sorry I wrote the wrong number they are RS9000XL's and they are the nine position adjustable ones. the quick lift would use my old coil springs with a plate on the schock to lift the suspension or the spring a little. I have been torn on if i want billstien or the rancho. any thoughts which i should go with. Anybody who has an opinion! thanks for the input!

I had mine installed a couple months ago and I love them!...I was constantly adjusting the dial, which was a little pain, but I got them with a free wireless controller promo back in December. Once that came in I put it on and its great. The one irritation that I am having, is that the compressor sometimes doesn't operate when I want. I then have to reset the receiver (which I put next to the battery).
