Aftermarket Flathead Parts

Hey Everybody, wondering what websites everybody has used for the Performence area of their flatty, I found that I can find most parts at SpeedwayMotors.com, They seem to have some good deals, but I've never purchased from them before, and I'm not too sure on their product quality.
I'd Like to go ahead and spend the money now on good parts instead of later on replacing the crappy ones.

Heres Some of the stuff I'm going with:
-Three Demon Carbs on an Offenhauser Intake
-Mallory Ignition Distributor
-High Volume Pump
-Stainless Intake & Exhaust Valves
-Stainless Valve Seats
-Stainless Engine Bolt Kit
-Ajustable Lifters
-286CID Rotating Assembly

Thats Just the beginning of it!!! Its scary how fast it adds up
Any suggestions on a Cam? I'm having a Hard Time Picking one out.

Thanks Guys, Your always so helpful!!

speedway , reds ,are both good places to shop for flatty parts . word up , barry grant went outta business the manufacturer of demon carbs , a victim of our economy . a lot of stuff is being made overseas due to the high costs of manufacturing here now , including parts from dennis carpenter , and that comes from them when i contacted then about something . look at tilden technologies site and read up on the design and history of flatty cams and maybe it will help you make a decision or confuse the begeezuz outta you . also i have heard some bad things about the super 97 carbs from speedway so beware there . contact schneider , isky , about the cams too . they both been doing flatty cams for years and can make a solid reccomendation for you .

Speedy Bill has become another JC Whitney IMHO. He's had some quality problems, not the least of which is the 97 super knock-off carb he sells.

If I were in your area I'd use Summit and Jegs.

If you're serious about building up a flathead you should spend a lot of time reading the archives over on this site:

http://flatheadv8.org/phpBB/index.ph...3bb6aa6bf5d399

You'll save yourself a ton of cash on mistakes.

Keep in mind: Any flathead chokes on more than 390 cfm unless you're doing something as radical as Flatfire has done on the salt flats.

Also: You need to seriously consider if you're building an all out race motor or do you hope to drive it on the streets. Flatheads don't like compromise very much.

The high volume oil pump is no real benefit for the street. They are for engines with sloppy clearances, either from wear or for racing purposes.

Also check with flathead jacks. I bought some things from them and they were real helpful.

Edelbrock is producing a new version of the Holly 94. It's a bit pricey, but it's new, and built in the USA.

Edelbrock.com - Carburetors & Accessories - 94 Two-Barrel Carburetors

It's available through Summit Racing, and a few of the other big outlets.
