Drop Pitman Arm Safe on Stock Height?
Heres the deal. My front steering is shot so I ordered all new tie rod ends, center link and drag link. The wheel side ball joints came right off. the center link to pitman arm is seized solid. I've tried a puller, broke it, heat, air hammer, pickle forks, one hammer to bigger hammers to sledge hammers. Hell I even welded on a pair of vice grips to the top of the ball joint to try and twist it off to only twist and snap the bolt. I soaked it for 24 hours with PB. My right arm is literally useless, every joint in my body is aching from beating on this for two days!
Anyway the pitman arm has to come off with the center link and I need a new pitman arm. Thing is, im doing this in preparation for my 6" lift and had planned on using a drop pitman arm anyway.
Would it be safe to use a dropped pitman arm on a stock hight F-350? I would think not but it would keep me from having to buy two of them.
thanks, Mike
