7.5 in a foxbody

I have a 79 Mercury Capri that I am wanting to do a engine swap with. I can get a 460 from a friend to put in my car and what I originally was thinking i could simply switch out the front suspension with 5.0 parts to make up the difference. I talked over the idea with my grandfather and he said that the car wouldn't hold the weight with out plenty of fab work such as major suspension upgrade and some sort of frame to attach to the rear of the car to make it solid. I understand that I could simply put in a 302 or 351 easier and have abundant power if I built it right but I really want to use the 460 because it would be quite a bit more impressive to do. Does anyone have any know how about doing something like this?

swapping in a 460 has been done sice day 1. I can't remember where, but there's plenty of places to find all you need. The front end will handle it just fine. I knew a guy in high school that did the swap, and said the handling wasn't all that much worse than the 5 litre

Yeah, according to what I've heard, the 460 isn't exactly HEAVY.

The TORQUE of the engine might want to twist the car around the driveshaft...

I realize I would be dropping almost half a ton into the front end, but there are coil over conversions that could take the weight if I can find the right one. The torque could be tamed by other means, i'm looking into sub frame connectors but not sure if that would be enough. I was hoping someone would have some experience with doing something like this. If so your help would be very much appreciated.

just like droppin any other v8 in. Just way bigger there are after market swap mounts for the motor, and you can get a 460 bell for a c4 tranny and there you go its all tucked in there.

I bet that's the only way to get good mpg out of a 460.....in a FoxStang. I'm saying above 13.

I know the feeling. If I wanted great mpg, I would be putting in a 4cyl Cummins in my pickup instead of a gorilla of a 6 cyl Ford. That's a BIG block.
