Just recieved offer to buy my excursion

I just got a big post card from the dealer who I bought my x from. It looked like a for sale sign, on the back they would offer me up to $13895.00 for it as they have several request for x's. Thought it was crazy As I would not sell it for less than what I paid for it sence they quit making them! I am wondering how many people got an offer like this.

There does seem to be a big demand for X's for what reason I'm not completely sure. Before I found the one that I wanted I called about an X on a friday, decieded to think about it called Sunday and someone had come down from New Haven Conn and bought it, another was grabbed up by someone that came here (VA) from Michigan. I am sure one reason is that there is very little salt damage to X's in VA and you can find them with very little rust if any

My dealer keeps sending me the same letter every so often too. I'd never trade or sell mine, 10 years and 301K together is too much to throw away...

One of the biggest legitimate scams out there. By the time you get to the dealership
they have a list of reasons why they can't offer you "up to" $13,895.

Reasons such as
"the front seat is worn",
"the paint is not as shiny as it should be",
"gonna need new tires soon",
"it is almost 9 years old, ya know",
"it would be worth more if it didn't have 125,000 miles on it",
etc....

Sad but true. It's amazing how much each item will knock off the price too...

I haven't received anything like this on my Ex but on my 06 Mustang GT Conv the selling dealer offered to buy it back twice and order me another. It wasn't an 'up to' offer it was just a plain cash offer of what I had paid for it. Gotta love it when things are in demand. Funny how 2 years later I go to sell it to buy the Ex and no buyers are to be found for an absolutely mint GT with all options and very low miles. Oh well....

I could make a profit on my X right now but it took so long to find the right one I would never sell it. I would like to buy another one just to put away and save for later.

It's just a ploy to get you to BUY a NEW vehicle so the dealer can make $$$.

I've gotten the same things: "do to high demand for you 2000 Jeep...."
