Steering Linkage

Is it really necessary to convert from a Y linkage to a T linkage on a 1977 F150 for a 6" Lift?

I would. You can't get a drop pitman arm for our year of truck.

Then stop spending. If your going to do it, do it right the first time. Jeff's Bronco Graveyard has an adjustable setup for $285.00 (recommended) or the non adjustable for $190.00. The key is patients. I would also recommend getting 7-degree offset C-bushings so your caster isn't messed up. Setting the caster helps your steering center itself while driving. If that's not right, you get bump steer and your truck want's to go wherever it wants when your over 50mph. I made all these mistakes and I only have a 4" lift and 35's.
