I was talking to my friend and he said years ago he built his Holley and set it up wrong so when he floored it it would occasionally lock open.

He thinks he set the trottle stops wrong, but he had it rebuilt by pro's so he never found out. Trying not to look stupid I guess.

throttle plate?

ran a predator back in the day. good off road carb. One of the things to check is throttle plate clearance inside. make sure not rubbin. Also make sure you gskt on btm is in good shape/not uneven. If you torque unevely could bind up throttle rod or distort housing. Reason I quit running my predator was because of the stripped out threads. salt water is hell on parts. bolts stripped out and the housing started moving around and just never stayed straight/square and plate would bind up.
