procharger supercharger

Procharger, no not really!
I just purchased and installed a Procharger for my 2010 F150 with a 5.4L. I was excited at first but now with all the problems I've had, I would go another route. The installation started okay but I ran into problems with the piping out of the intercooler, basically it didn't fit I had to modify all of it to make it fit. This is supposed to be a custom kit for my truck. I called tech support and they suggested I go to my local muffler shop and get some piping/ tubing to make my connections. At $5500.00 I expect better. The hoses they include to connect the piping and the 90's are just gates hose and don't fit correctly to the tubing, also they send hose clamps instead of tee clamps to secure all the connections. Again really for $5500.00 I expect better. The other problem I ran into was the Coolant overflow tank they included in the kit, it doesn't fit in the spot it is supposed to go. Okay after all that I test drive the vehicle, guess what NO BOOST! I called their tech support. The usual questions did you install it correctly and I explain to them that I can hear the boost coming out of the bypass all the time, he says to check the bypass valve by removing the vacuum line and seeing if the diaphragm will hold vacuum. It will not so I called them back, come to find out this is a common problem. I assumed they would send me another one but no he wants me to take it apart and see if I can fix it myself. Okay fixed the bypass valve with some Loctite Teflon paste no more leaks, reinstalled still no boost. Come to find out pipe connection under driver side headlight blew apart, what a surprise hose clamps suck!!! Since then I have gone online to AN Fittings and Stainless Steel Lines and ordered and installed tee clamps and silicone couplings, no more separated connections. But wait we aren't done yet, I can smell gasoline every time I drive the truck. Fuel leak? no it's coming from the exhaust! Again I call tech support. Response from tech support,Yeah we tune them on the rich side you need to have it tuned. Again really? what the hell did I give these *** wipes $5500.00 for? Okay so I take the truck to my local speed shop, they can tune it but the SCT flash tuner is locked and they want $150.00 to unlock it. I'm ready to take a drive to Procharger HQ and strangle some of these *****!!!!! Be for warned, these kits are not bolt on!!!!

That's not what I expected, I was told the kit was bolt on and no additional tuning was required. I have supercharged other vehicles and used SCT flash loaders with custom tunes and have had little or no problems. Basically I'm more disappointed with their support or lack of it. When you have fitment issues, which will happen I would expect them to make it right. The kit I bought was supposed to be the right one for my truck, not the tuner kit that must be adapted to the vehicle. The truck is at Lonestar Performance as we speak and they are working on the tuning of both the motor and the transmission. They drove the truck before they started tuning and agreeded that the transmission is way off from what it should be. I would have thought they could at least get that right.
