If it has never been used then it is probably still zip tied behind the bumper above the rubber thing that comes off the bottom of the front bumper. I found mine on accident and didn't even know I had one. Not that I'll ever need where I live, but my truck spent its first year of its life in Canada. If you don't have an answer by the time I get home from work, I'll look under the hood of my truck and tell you where to look to see if you actually have a block heater.

Sorry I never got back to you yesterday, I ended up working later than expected and it was dark when I got home. I took a look at my truck this morning and I have no idea where the wiring from the plug goes since it goes into a wire bundle. The underside of my truck is coated in an inch of mud so it's hard to see much at all. Hopefully someone else can chime in with an answer on the location of the actual block heater.

If you have a plug for the engine block heater it is located BEHIND the front bumper, on the left side (if you are standing in front of the truck), and about 12 inches from the front license plate.

It is zip tied up there and has a rubber cap over the prongs of the plug.

It might help to know what engine you're talking about. If it's the 7.3L diesel, the block heater and cord are there, unless someone removed the cord. If it's one of the gas engines, having a block heater would be unusual, and if there is one, the cord might be somewhere else entirely.

Good point, I didn't even think about the different locations for different engines. Mine is a V10 and still has an block heater. I thought it was odd since gas engines will usually start at extremely cold temperatures without problems. But on the other hand it was manufactured for export to Canada with the "cold weather" package. I'll never use it though unless I finally move to Alaska someday, and even then it probably wouldn't get used very often.
