Actually, the sharp 90 degree corner will be toward the top by the vent glass

Yep. It goes at the junction of the wing window frame to the door.

The removal of the old rubber is the part that generally requires getting the glass out of the way. At 25-30 years of age, that stuff can be hard as a rock, making rather difficult to get it out.
