2011 Ford F-150 Platinum 6.2L

A few days ago I picked up my new 2011 Ford F-150 Platinum w/6.2L engine.

I've discovered that the speed is electronically limited to about 99 MPH.

The Tires on the truck are rated at 118 MPH.

Why would Ford limit a vehicle to 99 MPH and then put Tires on it rated at 118 MPH?

Does anybody make a Chip or Programer that could change the Speed Limit?

Would doing so VOID my warranty?

Love the Truck and the Engine but limiting my speed is my job not Ford's.

You can definitely remove the speed limiter with a tuner, and technically speaking, it will void your warranty. BUT, as we keep rehashing lately, if you flash it back to stock before taking the vehicle in for service, the tech will not know you have a tuner, and cross your fingers, nothing bad will happen where they have to yank and examine the PCM. Mike, who posted above, is who most of us use for our tuning needs. Send him a PM and he will be more than happy to help. Welcome!

Need advice asap

Dougie,

Congrats on an awesome truck.
I'm coming from a string of Chvys and am currently in a Lexus Suv.
I miss a truck and drove the F and think
I'm done.

With that being said, I'm considering pulling the trigger on a F150 Platinum 6.2 4x4.

If you dont mind, What was your otd price? You can Pm me.
Just want to make sure I'm working a fair deal.

Thanks

Also, if anyone has any pre-purchase tips or price suggestions please feel free to chime in.

Thumbs up New 2011 Super Duty

Hey I also purchased a new 250 white platinum truck. I had a 97 explorer and finally decided it was time for a change. Boy I love my truck. I have sprayed the bed with line-x and adding duralap mudflaps. The forum has helped me with ideas. A new intake is in the works. Great buy!
