Drove Platinum 6.2 today

There was a used 2011 Platinum 6.2 with max tow package, 4.10 rear end and 2500 miles on it so I took it for a spin. Great truck with all the features, Ford dealership is asking $43000.
I put the shifter in M and stopped it in 2nd and 3rd a couple times. I was happy with the downshifting while going down hill. I put it in 3rd and even 2nd at one point. The 6.2 was more able to slow the truck and keep it at a steady speed while descending the hill on the downshifts when compared to the 3.5 but that is obvious. The acceleration was good, but to me it felt like my 3.55 ecoboost has a bit more snap when flooring 2nd and 3rd gear.
I really liked the ride, it was fun. If I had the choice between the two motors I'm not really sure which I'd go with, but I'm leaning towards the 6.2. Would like to drive it a couple more times and possibly tow as well.

Can anybody chime in on their impression of the 6.2 in a F150?

i drove one just about two months ago now for fun and i could not tell you if it was better than the eco-boost i drove but both are dame close! we are looking to get out of my 10 5.4 with 3.55 out back and find a max tow. even the 5.4 are nice but just want to be able to tow are dump trailer! the 5.4 tows it well half full to empty but when its full of tan bark it's a hole different story.

I love the 6.2 in my F150, but can't comment on towing capability (yet). I only have the 3.73 rear end, so the 4.10 you drove probably felt a little more lively than mine. I'm surprised your Eco 3.55 felt about the same as a 6.2 4.10 in 2nd and 3rd, but the Eco does build a lot of boost and twist from low RPMs. When I test drove an Eco 3.55 back to back against a 6.2 3.73, they felt equally quick to me, but accomplished the task in different manners. I just prefer the way the 6.2 "talks" to me when I drop the hammer, and didn't want another quiet sleeper. The Eco was just too drama-free for me (less fun), which is a plus or negative depending on your taste or intended use for the vehicle.

I'm really digging the 6.2L in my 2012. It burns fuel but I can afford the fuel so it is worth it. Clean under the hood, love the big heads looking back at me, and feels like it could pull out stump. I really like the idea it is also offered in the SD but can be had in F150 trim. I think all the new engines are great and have merit but this one was right for me.

It's crazy , I have yet to drive a 6.2 but even the 5.0L & EcoBoost feel damn near close to me. I actually want to drive a 3.7 too just to see what thats all about. I also love the EcoBoost but it was too quiet for my likes. I like when you put the hammer down on the 5.0L and and people around you get scared because the exhaust note sounds like a NASCAR stock! lol

I have driven all except for the 3.7 and the all felt pretty close. eco was a 2wd supercrew and others were 4x4 supercrews. not sure of the gears. I went with the 5.0 and love it. pool runner you are right on about the exhaust. but put a single chamber cherry bomb dumped at the axle and this is what you get. gets a lot of attention.

Hmm..a bit too loud for me. I love the rumbling of an exhaust but unfortunately the V6 is not going to rumble like a V8. There was one exhaust I did like I cannot remember where it was on youtube.

Yes it is loud and has a loud drone about 65mph also. At 70 its not as bad. I'm so used to it it's hard for me to tell anymore. I know it puts the kids fast asleep. I'm Thinkin about running it out the back with 4" dual wall angle cut rolled stainless tips
