short answer.. Nope. (I have a 350 drw so I'm stuck in the same spot)

and even IF you add some tuner and pull the DPF.. you're going up 2-3mpg.. not 10..

Easiest thing to do is max out your tire pressures, don't haul unnecessary stuff in the back, drive with a light foot, keep boost under 10psi, and more importantly, pick your routes so that you always drive downhill or drive only on days with a tailwind.

I have a 08 F450 dwr (4.10 rears) 2nd owner, (ford premium care warranty) with 23K miles. I have a CM flat bed that is full of tools/100 gal. fuel tank, Air compressor ect. I bougth the truck two or three months ago.

I was getting 10.2 mpg hand calculated. I deleted the doc/dpf and got the SCT livewire tuner. Im currently testing the canned extreme tune. I have gone through 2 tanks now, and I am getting 15.2 mpg hand calculated. This is mixed 50/50 highway city driving. After testing the canned tune, I am planning on trying Erics custom tunes and see if I can get any additional mpg's. I would consider my driving style ultra conservative.

But that would void the warranty, right?

my 350 dfw 4.10 gets 9 pulling 7000 lb flat front enclosed car trailer (at 70+)
I get 12.5 in the 50/50, and 14.5 on the hiway empty..
stock. I am not a conservative driver, but not a race driver either

I would not pull the trailer with the extreme tune. but this is when I need the mileage.

1. Just depends on your relationship with the dealership prior to any warranty work needed.

2. How you maintenance your truck AND with whom do you maintenance your truck with (dealership).

just my thoughts after reading and talking with people.

My local dealer said they prefered not to deal with it, but would.. if the issue was away from the engine/trans/rear, then they would work it

(radiator is ok.. for example)

but if it was engine/trans rear related they would give me the opportunity to restore the truck to stock before making a decision.

the issue I have with all that is, I bought the truck for towing AWAY from home.. and if it fails away (90% of the time) then I am at the mercy of the dealer where its towed after the failure.
