Signal light

I have a 98 Expedition, the right rear signal light and brake light do not work. I just got the truck it was a victim of attempted theft and the steering column was ripped up bad enough for me to replace the whole column.
There is no power to the signal or brake light however the tail light works. I have checked the voltage at the plug. If someone is familiar with the wiring on this unit I am wondering if something could still be wrong under the dash. I was careful to see to it that everything was plugged in and looking good. I can't think of anything other than a wire problem at the rear that might take out the signal light and brake light from under the dash. (yes I checked the bulb, lol)
Any help would be good.

Thanks

The circuit that feeds the brake/turn signal lamp runs through the turn signal switch. So if the switch has an issue then the lamp won't light up. Was it a used column with a used turn signal switch in it?

Yes it was used, the dash light comes on and the right front. I assume that would rule out the switch?

Don't rule out that used switch just yet. The front and rear are on two different circuits.
The rear cancels out the brake lamp just on the side turn signal is activated to . This does not happen in the front circuit .
Also you might check the plug connector sleeves that plug the harness into the multifunction switch. They have been known to have the metal inner connectors to slide out of the plastic sleeve an not plug in the multifunction switch very good.

Ditto, The front is just a turn signal, while the rear is both a turn signal and a brake light.

The old switch looked to be still in good condition, I will put it on later today and see what happens.
