Thanks for the contribution
HIDs are illegal UNLESS they were FACTORY equiped

Okay .... but what if you got aftermarket headlights that were designed with HID's in mind?

Wouldn't the beam then be focused in a way to prevent blinding/irritating other drivers at night? I mean its just a thought. I know that the ugly projector set you can get them with or without the HID upgrade from what I saw, and I think they were made with that in mind.

Just my 2 cents.....

Yes they would be better with Projector headlights but they will ALWAYS be illegal. Like said before if it didn't come from the factory with HIDs then its illegal.

I have had my HID headlights and foglights for like 2 years now and have never had any problems with being flashed or cops. I have alot of things about my truck that is illegal but ive never had any problems with police. Just please make sure your headlights are aimed right when you put the HIDs in. Ive put in 5 kits now and everyone loves them and hasn't had any problems with them.

If you have to go HID, aim them way down. Whatever you do, don't get those hideous projector lights for our trucks, barf.

Anyone ever do any CUSTOM headlight setups ? Like from an entirely different year or model or shoot even from a completely different manufacturer? I was thinking... perhaps two rounds like from an old Fairlane for an example, With Custom Steel fascia and brackets and all.

I have always liked the idea of swapping out completely different headlights on any vehicle just because it really makes yours stand out as different. Headlight changes in my opinion make a stronger statement of change than pretty much everything else.

Just found these as well... Black versions of the same light I believe... And these are actually pretty nice looking. Unfortunately not projectors or halos. but still sharp.

I'm not a big fan of the way the projectors look but I've gone to HID bulbs and I know that they are annoying other drivers. I've gotten flashed a couple times. I think I'm going to order up a set of projectors although I like the idea of doing different headlights. Maybe I'll play around with photoshop tonight and see what it would look like with dual round headlights.

Post up what you come up with in PS if it looks decent... Also try PSing in some projectors made for other vehicles that could easily be made to fit... I don't have PS and this isn't my lap top otherwise I woulda already been all over it lol.

I just installed 35W 4500k HIDs and they are so much better than halogen bulbs. I have them aimed so that no one flashes us. I like them so much that I'm ordering a set for my '07.

Those lights are still designed for Halogen bulbs. They also have ricey LEDs in them. If you want to get different headlights get the clear or smoked 3 piece ones that look similar to factory lights. This is the best looking of the least stock looking aftermarket lights.

Yeah, wow those are REALLY nice looking. It's nice to see the lights actually on a real truck, not some stupid advertisement picture or just a picture of the lights. And honestly, I don't mind ricey.... I have a honda and love import tuners just as much as I do American Muscle. They really are a blast to drive and look sick as hell as long as its tastefully done. All I have to say is.. 1200 BHP twin turbo Supra? Yeh I know ... 70k+ pricetag but oh well, dreams are dreams and we each have our own.

But back to the matter at hand... those really are some sharp headlights right there!

As far as lights go this is my favorite. Its just the clear parking lights that match the factory headlights and sidemarkers.

The white Lightning is my second favorite. Its the same clear parking lights with crystal clear headlights.

Then the all crystal clear and then the smoked. Thats the order I like them in. The others are ugly and I can't stand them.

Its ok if you like import stuff, but those accessories have no place on muscle cars or trucks.

Check out this thread.
