pins & bushings or hinge??

pins & bushings or hinge??

my driver door sags a little when i open it. do i change the pins and bushings (like all of my older chevys) or the whole hinge?

I dont know, but;

I guess if you take out the pin and bushing, and it seems loose enough, that would be the root cause. IF the pin & bushing seems tight.....hinge? just look for whats loose...

My old chevy had the doors almost falling an inch when opening. replaced everything but it was actually the body was fatigued already, so there was nothing to be done short of fabricating custom parts.

I know the bushing is bad but can I buy just the pin and bushing? Or do I have to get the whole hinge

well i once replaced my chev pin without the entire hinge, so i imagine you shouldnt need the whole thing...

It doesn't look like the ones in the old chevys. It looks like the pin is fixed

i have to admit, i've never looked at mine.

Maybe the ends have that sorta slot stamped in it so it cant be replaced.

Replace pind and bushings, may habe tu cut old pins out, but kits can be gotten from ford or napa. Toughest part is stabelizing the door when hinges are apart!
