I need to tap into the wire for my horn button as I [plan on installing one soon. What wire is it under the dash that I need to tap into?

My EVTM for a 1993 F-series shows the ground path from the steering column to the horn relay coil is a Dark Blue wire. The 12V feed from the horn relay to the factory horns is Yellow/Light Green

Ok cool, thanks a bunch. I should just look at the harness going directly to the steering column I assume? I would tap into the 12V to wire in a horn right, no reason to mess with the ground, correct?

The 12V supply for the horn relay is located in the engine compartment fuse/relay box. The horn button in the steering column only supplies the return path to activate the relay.

This drawing might help you out:

Ya, I meant to the horn button. Can't I just tap into the horn button wire(Black wire on diagram) and put one end of the toggle in there so when the toggle is down only the stock horn will sound. But when the toggle is up, both will sound?

Ok, thanks so much. I'll probably pull the fuse while doing it so I don't get shocked.

I am having a horn issue alsoon my 1990 F250. I tired using stock button in wheel cutting and bypassing harness wires. It was the wrong thing to try. I appreciate the wiring diagram. I am still unabule to locate horn relay. Any more throughts

Ford did change things around from one generation to the next. I do not have a diagram for a 1990. If I find something, I will post it.

horn relay should be under hood on passenger side. In between the battery and the solenoid..
